Now that you know and understand the types of vinyl for cricut machine it s time to get started on the very first project that cricut suggested.
Whats the difference between 651 and 631 vinyl.
Thanks for this post curious if you know the difference of the oracal 813 considered the stencil vinyl or the oracal 651 or 631.
Oracal 631 has a matte finish on it meaning it does not have the glossy sheen to it it also has a lighter adhesive so it is best used indoors and can be removed faily easily.
When the sun shines on it it sparkles but i know i will be changing it out soon because it wasn t designed for the weather.
I ll go through all the properties of oracal 651 here.
Both are calendared films and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
There are also other types of specialty adhesive vinyl available for specific situations.
The main difference between 651 and 631 is going to fall in the adhesive on the vinyl and the finish on the vinyl.
I love using 651 for my no soliciting decals i sell online.
I used glitter 631 vinyl on my dog that i put on my car.
Known as outdoor vinyl 651 is more durable than 631 and is often used to make outdoor signs.
Oracal 651 vinyl uses a clear solvent based permanent adhesive.
I have used the 651 and 631 matte interchangabley for making vinyl stencil on wood and they work great.
The difference between oracal 651 and 631 shows they both have their own specific attributes.
Or you can get vinyl as a permanent adhesive such as oracal 651 which is ideal for everything especially outdoor use on things such as signs and cars.
Both 631 and 651 are both calendered vinyls as opposed to cast vinyl.
Two big differences.
It is slightly thinner than 651 60 micron vs 70 micron cast vinyl is a higher quality vinyl than calendared vinyl like 651 or 631 because of the manufacturing process.
Oracal 651 is the other very popular vinyl to use in your cricut and silhouette machines.
